hey there,
we are thinking about moving from xtra to orcon dial up internet, mainly because of the price,
i have a few questions:

do we need to notify xtra a certian time ahead before we go and sign up with orcon? if so how? by email or phone?

are there any disconnection fees? if so how much?

how long(if any) will we not have internet access?

and finally is orcon a good isp? do you recommend them?

we are looking at the plan that you pay $14.95 a month unlimited and you need to pay 3 months inadvance.

Check your terms and conditions with Xtra.

Only you will know what terms you signed on, but unless it was some "special deal" with a contract period then it will be covered by the T&C on their site.

That will detail the notice required (likely to be 1 month or billing period, or similar)

Best to ring Xtra up and ask. But do tell them you're changing because of the price. I have heard people have been able to get adjustments. I.E. Tell them unless they can do you a good deal, your changing.

Otherwise Xtra will disconnect you at the end of your billing period.
