View Full Version : WordPad opneing email attachments.

Hi Folks. Another bad-hair day. Using XP Pro with SP2, etc. And Office Pro Edition 2003. Documents saved in Word 2003 and sent to me as attachments in Outlook Express have started opening with Wordpad. Formerly, possibly prior to SP2, they always opened in Word. As I said, bad-hair day and for the life of me I can't see why. I know that I have the option of saving the documents and opening them with Word, but.... :cool:

Reset the file association to Word.

In Windows Explorer, right click one of the files, select Open With, select Choose Program from the bottom of the list, select Word and tick the "always use the selected program..." box.
OK out.

Thanks godfather. I knew that. But too much sun and my old brain needed that prompt. Much appreciated. However, I must admit to some curiosity as to the how, why and when the change occurred. :cool:
