Hi i got a problem with my CD-RW i am using cyberdrive 48/24/48/16 combo drive to burn dics. At half way buring a disc the cd-writer causes a write error. And it's not recoverable. It happened several times. I tried different brand cd-R s and i am using nero 6.3.3 ultra version to burn discs My cd writer is nearly 1 years old and the problem started from 2 to 3 months.
I am running Xp pro on mY P4 1.6gnz processor with 256 SD RAm Please Help.

Disable autorun on your PC.

What IDE channel is the CD Writer on? And is it master or slave?

Try putting it on it's own channel.

What speed are you burning at? Try the lowest. I normally use 24 for Data.

If it is Master, its likely to be on secondary IDE as the HDD is usually Master on the primary.

The question is - what else is on that secondary IDE channel? Is there anything else on the flat ribbon cable that the CD Drive uses?

If not, it's already on it's own channel.
