Just going through the event viewer and under the security heading there's "Success Audit's" that have been making my computer beep.

Any way for me to tell what these are for?

Cheers

Success Audit records successful events such as logging on by the user.

You can read more here (http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/event_overview_01.mspx) and here (http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/aptopnode.mspx). Not sure why your system beeps at you for it though? Have you stuck your nose in the system sounds events and disabled sounds for this event?

Yes but why is it beeping during the day? What auditing is going on here? Is it me? Is it somebody accessing my machine via LAN?

I like the sounds - They keep me on my toes.
