Are you suggesting just for computer gear or can I trade in the wife? :D

16-12-2004, 09:10 PM
LMAO I'm sure heaps will be selling their kids/brothers/sisters... off...

16-12-2004, 09:13 PM
No. There are enough Trade/Exchange/Auction sites around.

You'd just get idiots and businesses hawking their wares.

Its a good idea, but no matter how you slice it would cause extra work for the mods....so i could see why it wouldnt be allowed.

Though i do have a well used MS force-feedback steering wheel im prepared to sell for peanuts.......

I like the idea. Even if some retailers want to sell off a whole heap of gear on special it would be ok. Overclockers Australia do this. I think one example they had a whole heap of Corsair RAM to sell off cheap, woulda been quite interested if I was in Aus.

You could restrict it to computer stuff? That way we don't get people selling their old socks n stuff like on Trademe.

People trying to operate a business through the forum should be kneecapped.

16-12-2004, 09:45 PM
why?? there will be lots of trouble arising from this, people getting banned like crazy, just take a look at ocnz, "junior" members are getting banned because they go in the bse and post something, mind you they should read the rules but still, no warning, just a ban

people often have stuff that only certain computer lirerate people will want - it would be a good idea yet it could easily turn into just a shop rather then a place to exchange old stuff

I think it would be great. I reckon the rule should be, businesses are allowed to sell, but no spamming (like, putting all your products up).

16-12-2004, 11:46 PM
I have nothing to sell, trade me, and such wont take second hand hubby's LOL
" of course not darling im not going to sell you" ;)

Maybe we'll see the foreshore re-listed ....

Even JSG has a BSE  With some fair rules and 3 moderators you can't go wrong.

I think it would be quite good actually. Buying computer parts off long-term members of PF1 might be less risky than buying parts off Trademe. Or not.
