Okay I've installed Fedora Core 3 - looks pretty good and runs like a dreamy dream....and as with every other linux install I've ever done I always seem to have a problem.

I tried to install apt and synaptic, install goes through the initial motions but then I get this error (http://sal.neoburn.net/imagef1/files/Screenshot.png). It says something about public key not available?

Incidently I was following this guide (http://fedoranews.org/contributors/stanton_finley/fc3_note/#Apt) which was posted in this (http://pressf1.pcworld.co.nz/thread.jsp?forum=1&thread=54404) thread.

Any thoughts and tips appreciated....

cheers

I used to just use -f back in the days of Redhat.... Means "Force it".

Hi Chiefnz

You need to install the public key for freshrpm's. Just open up a terminal window su - to root and enter in this:

rpm --import http://freshrpms.net/packages/RPM-GPG-KEY.txt
I've got apt-get and synaptic running on FC3 and it is quite good. :)

Its interesting to read their note on why they dont include the livna repo in that. Shame they cant all get on really. :)
