OK, so I'm on the new Xtra swift 10gig plan... half way through the month and I've only used 10%.

Call me a scrooge but I don't like the idea of Telecom/xtra getting off without me getting close to the full amount.

I don't surf for porn
Not into downloading old Don Henley songs (shudder!)
Already have SP2
have updated every program I can find

What I'd like to know- does anyone out there have any great sites that they just can't live without checking everyday as 'Aunty Herald' just doesn't do it for me.

And yes I know- someone is bound to say "Be grateful for what you've got , even though you can't use it all"

Thanks and Seasons Gratings to you all

are you saying that xp is up to date - check again , and once more , if that is done , set your chace to zero your history to zero , find a extremly high quality / large picture , wait for it to load and then press f5 heaps and heaps of times

Download all the cureren Linux distros and make the iso's burnt copies available to all the people who cant afford broad band uncapped/half capped , plus you get to play with them your self.

Whats wrong with don henly??

Its a shame there isnt a plan around 3 to 4 g because so many people must run into this delema.

I suggest don't abuse the bandwidth like other leeches - keep the bandwidth clean and use it when you really need it.

maybe tomorrow microsoft will discover a flaw in Xp and release a 5gig patch and since you have downloaded things you dont really need you will get hacked ( everyone knows about the flaw now ) and then you will be wise with your bandwidth all the time

Moral - Greg said it

if you've got a dvd burner, get some linux dvd iso's... I've been doing that a lot lately, pretty much 24/7 in fact. Flatrate broadband rocks, I like being able to offhandedly say "meh, we did about 4 or 5 gigs of throughput yesterday" :D

How about BartPE, great utility for when things go haywire.
http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/

That would get rid of 70 or 80 megs worth of it.

Chill,

Is it much better than 3.4, does it have the usb things we need/needed?

Yeah, but Dev isn't that big - not enough to use up that much data. Linux distros, or movie trailers seem the way to go. Also, download every borland trial software you can find.

drb1:
Gentoo Linux will isntall fine onto a USB HDD - As will Fedora if you do advanced partitioning and place the /boot partition on your local HDD.

Windows however will _not_ boot from a USB Drive unless the BIOS supports it :-(
