For the second month in a row I have not been switched over to Jetstream 2mbit!!!!!!!!!!! After countless restarts of my router - including leaving it off for 10+ minute stretches I am still stuck on 256k speed. The usage meter shows me on the correct plan yet I'm still unable to reap the benefits.

Telecom gave me a credit last time, but I'm really getting sick of this. Do I have any other recourse?

You can try try this here ( http://sal.neoburn.net/imagef1/files/carrier_pidgeon.jpg) or keep ringing them and complain.

But sorry I can't help in a practical way.

Im loving it - Done 22Gigs this month and still kicking at 2mbit

Im debating cancelling the Ihug flat-rate 256kbps service and just sticking with this, although the faster upload would be nicer on the 256kbps (Its flat up/down 32KB/s)

Chill.

well I'm a tech and often downloading programs .....but I dont get over 3gb usually i can only guess what those of you downloaing 60gb in a month are up to ................ridiculous.........if you did that every month you'd be buying/burning a lot of cd/dvd's or filling up hard drives flat out.........

Remember the meters are counting both incoming and outgoing data and are counting all the data in the frames which include all the TCP/IP header information, etc so it all adds up.
Example according to Telecom site I used to consistantly use 18 to 25GB per month but Paradise usage meter which is only counting data showed me only using about 4 to 8GB.

If you don't know what they're downloading you're probably too young to ask ;)

Mostly TV programs that aren't available in NZ. Download, watch, delete. Rinse and repeat.

From where? I've looked for a couple but can't seem to find much useful. Or should I be looking p2p?

Mike.

I'm presuming p2p

Well I do a lot of transfer between myself and other users who have free or 1/20th cost national bandwidth.

I also run 3x gentoo boxes which I frequently download excessively for, just because I can......

Knoppix, Ark Linux (stable and dockyard) amongst other things....

You'd be surprised. I can honestly say that 100% of that has been legit legal transfers!

So I take it im the only one?

Probably not. There were a few first time round but they should've caught them all this time, obviously didn't happen though.
Was it my imagination or did those of us on the 3gig plan get the worst deal in terms of the upgrades?

Mmm great aint it.

Ring them up some more, get them to log it and make sure it happens next time. You should get another credit. Meanwhile free internet for the last two months can't be too bad? :)

Bloody hell, 300MB over and I'm at 64K again.

The only advice I can offer Ashley is to keep badgering 'em. It paid off for lots of people I know...

When they failed to switch me from 128k to 256k, I got $100 'compensation' for waiting one extra day. I think if you nag them enough, you don't really need to wait for end of each month... only saying that from personal experience where, because I didn't leave them alone, switched me one day later plus credited phone account :)

As everybody says, nag them all you can. Ask for money... speak to management if need be ;-)

Yes. Television. Though your obvious maturity shows through with your implied comments. Not everyone is a deviant.

Torrents. Torrents are your friend.

Get hold of Azureus (from sourceforge) then Google for "suprnova" and hit I'm Feeling Lucky
