How, in firefox do I kill, the bandwidth hogging, datacap goobbling, very very annoying, player thing that turns up every now and then beside the scroll bar when I come to these pages.

You mean this: http://sal.neoburn.net/imagef1/files/PF1_Video.jpg

You will need to install the flash Blocker extension

See this thread: http://pressf1.pcworld.co.nz/thread.jsp?forum=1&thread=53720 for more

Stu,

Yes, that evil player thing.

I had to install flash to get one of the sites I need to use to run properly.

Previously I did not have it but the site "Upgraded" to flash (A big DOWNGRADE IMHO).

IS the flash blocker configurable or does it block all.

Donít know, thatís why I want to try it out :)

But I think to what I have read here is that you can turn it off/on or allow some sites etc...

Stu

Find out we will.

The evil goes, even if I must uninstall flash. And relegate the site that needs it to another brouse.

If you have the adblock extension, just block anything with a "script" node-name, as well as anything from http://acsrv.mediaonenetwork.net/*
Using the * wildcard prpoerly is most effective in making the site more zippy.

Get the Adblock extension and do this (http://sal.neoburn.net/imagef1/files/rid_adds_Rob99.gif)

Note I used the * wildcard

ht tp://acvsrv.mediaonenetwork*
ht tp://server-nz.imrworldwide*
ht tp://ad.doubleclick*

not sure how this will work with my edited user content.css does it compliment or do they fight?

People,

I think it might be dead, so the combination of fixes in this thread works.
