When I boot up my computer the internet sometimes takes up to 15 minutes to connect (its broadband). This is vexing but not nearly so much as its recent problem of disconnecting in the middle of game sessions and staying disconnected for 10 to 15 minutes. During these times sometimes when I check my computer ->network settings-> the connection it will show the bytes sent and received as being frozen. But today I could still see them being sent, yet no internet connectivity was to be had. Its not the ISP, as I'm writing this from my roommate's comp who uses the same ISP.

Any ideas on some kind of weird windows setting I can check? Thanks

Any clue as to the version of Windows, and the type of hardware used for connecting?

But how does it connect?
A router assumedly, and if so what model?

Do you use ADSL over cable, over phone line, or is it a Wireless internet router.

If ADSL over phone line, what filter arrangements are in place?

There's no router, I plug into a port on the wall with an ethernet cable.

AH! I had two connections enabled and the computer had been trying to run the wrong one. I disabled the auxillary connection and things work great.
