jeeez, this thread is the stuff wars are made of......
whatever you get, make sure the specs are what you want or have been recommended.
I found gcube a bit confusing, but I have one and it's fine.
At the end of the day, a card's a card a card. Just get a good one at the best price, or with the best software that comes with it.
BTW, which version are you looking at?

and/or?

What are you going to do with 2?

Anyhow,Both good cards,but the 9800pro is a powehouse compared to the 9600pro.

The brand won't matter unless your looking to OC,and even then it will be down to specific models....

about 3 months ago went into my favourite store and said I felt the need for more video grunt. Wanted a 9600xt. He said try this. A triplex 9600xt, the box looked it should have held organic cornflakes with the covering graphics remeniscent of a guy who drew it while on a acid flashback about a bad experience with an octopus.
Triplex----- WHFAT I said ? Anyway to cut a long story short He said $275 inclusive u dont like you bring back, doesn't have to have a fault.
It has performed faultlessly, does exactly what i need to do. I dont overclock vid cards but the benchmarks are right up there with other 9600 xt's
Usually I am a brand snob but this sort of opened my eyes a bit.

I built 2 near identical comps, ran them side by side,One had a (damn expensive) ASUS G4ti4200,and the other a cheap as chips Leadtek G4ti4200......The Leadtek pulled 1800 more 3dmark points.

I sold the ASUS.

Still running the Leadtek.
