View Full Version : 60/70/72/75Hz...for LCD??

i got a lcd monitor
it uses vga conenctor

there is still a refreshing rate setting in windows
i'm just wondering if it does anything at all since i'm now using an lcd

the way lcd works such thing shouldn't exists anymore
why is it still in the settings?

Just run it at whatever the manufacturer specifies, probably 60Hz.

I would suggest 75Hz - not 60Hz.

Like resolution lcd has a native "refresh" rate,60hz.

is there a way to find the native refresh rate?
it doesn't seem as obvious as the native resolution...

remember that the "refresh rate" on a LCD is only howmany times it updates itself every second. You could have a refresh rate on an lcd of 2 Hz and you would not get hurt eyes.

the manafacture probably recomends 60 Hz, so stick with dat

Most LCDs use a refresh rate of 60hz, in particular the cheaper ones.

Newer (or bigger) ones use 75Hz - possibly the better quality active matrix displays?

The refresh rate is tied in with the resolution,setting it to its native resolution will set the correct refresh rate.

Then its a case of making sure v-sync is enabled.
