Try spybot or adaware

Three things you could do:
1) Run AVG in safe mode - possibly will help with the virus' removal
2) Run spybot or adaware (as mentioned)
3) Go for another antivirus package - you can usually find trial versions on magazine CDs which do the job, just for 30 days or so until they expire and you have to buy them.

Probably in that order too. Cheers, brazzin.

Where does AVG tell you the trojan is?
If in the path it mentions sytem volume, or restore, then what has happened is AVG has deleted the trojan, but windows thinks it was a system file. Therefore it will save a copy in it's restore files. Quite safe while locked in there, but if you or Windows decides to restore after a problem, then it will come out to play again.
If it is in the restore file, just turn off your restore, restart PC, then re-scan with AVG. If all is clear, turn the restore function back on. Make a restore point.

Try out Trend Micro House Call (http://housecall.trendmicro.com/) if the other options given don't kill it. There will also be How To advisories re the malware on Trend Micro, Symantic and other major AV websites.
