View Full Version : Norton Systemworks 2004

A one button checkup shows some problems including one in disk integrity. During the fix it switches to Norton Disk Doctor and says " The following files have allocation errors \...0-FA36-11D7-9968-9912036C7B7E}\Microsoft\Outlook Express\cleanup.log\windows.000\Internet Logs\tvDebug.log. On clicking continue I am told that I have 14 lost clusters in 7 chains. Telling it to save the lost clusters asks me to create an undo file, which it does 14 times (one for each lost cluster?), it then tells me that these have been saved in the root directory as C:\file0000._dd etc. It then restarts the scan and gives me the same error message about file allocation errors! It doesn't save the lost chains or create undo files.

What can I do?

Does the hdd work ok though? If it doesnt I wouldnt worry about it.

Things like Systemworks or any file checking program can make ppl rather paranoid!

If you are using a version of Windows which has an Administrator level, I hope that you wouldn't be allowed (by the system) to fix disk errors if running the Disk Doctor as an ordinary user. :D
