You could try Moviemaker. It imports AVI. Not too sure if it can do anything after like rotate them.

VirtualDub

You can do it with moviemaker 2 but it distorts the aspect ratio.

Hi,
I sucessfully rotated an avi file using Virtual Dub but now I am stuck on how to compress the resulting 40MB file. I followed the instructions from this page:
http://www.eicsoftware.com/PapaJohn/MM2/MM2-DoAmazingThings-Chapter2-EffectsAndTransitions.html
eg. "From the pull down menu, select Video > Compression > Cinepak Codec by Radius (only because that's what I've been using) > make the Quality 90 > check 'Force keyframes every' 100 frames > OK.

From the pull down menu use File > Save as AVI > name it PeppermintPatti-Above-WithFrame > Save > you might be warned about using an outdated video compression codec, but select Yes to continue (only because I know it works). "

but the quality is rather poor. As I know very little about how to use Virtual Dub and nothing about video compression could you please advise me how I could compress my rotated avi file without losing too much quality?

Many thanks.
