Sorry, dislike Nortons due to being heavy on the resources.

Maybe you have to make rules, as explained here (http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nip.nsf/e2e4ce613b66167c88256d8e0076b032/d58faf5df2c9574b88256df300648304?OpenDocument&prod=Norton%20Internet%20Security&ver=2004%20Professional&src=sg&pcode=nis&svy=&csm=no)

Also, one forum has suggested this...

"intrusion detection - configure (on the right) - uncheck notify me when intrusion detection blocks a connection"

ok i checked that one and they are all unchecked, just got another box pop up one of the more frequent ones, it is headed "norton internet seurity professional" Program control, medium risk
microsoft internet explorer is attempting to access the internet using one of more unrecognized modules, then it has time, date, program, path etc, and says what do u want to do block or permit? then an ok button, i always say permit then ok within a few mins i get another one, grrrrrr

Unfortunately , I am not familiar with the product, so someone else will have to take up the reigns.

Not user friendly is it... :)
