Hi there

Running W2000 on a PIII 500

The program is "Cashbook Complete" which I have been running for yonks on this system

Today I got a warning box saying:

16 bit Windows Subsystem
C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.

I have downloaded the latest version (which specifically includes W2000) but I get the same message when trying to install.

I suspect a virus, but AVG hasn't picked it up...

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

I'd thrash through all the anti malware programs you've got and do the maintenance in Safe Mode and then update all yr anti-virus and malware programs again and run them and reboot and see if the problem has emigrated.

Thanks all. Copying the autoexec.nt file over did the trick.
