View Full Version : NZST vs NZDT

I need to set up one of my Win XP Home machines on NZST, not NZDT.
So, I clicked the clock in the taskbar and you get a display with a clock that says the current time zone is NZST. But the clock reads NZDT (i.e., 1 hour later). Everytime I change the clock to NZST, it switches back to NZDT a few minutes later. Unclicking the daylight saving box in Time Zone doesn't seem to make any difference. Unclicking the automatic synchronisation in the Internet Time folder seems to work, but now my clock does not get corrected.

Anyone solved this problem?

Change the time in the BIOS. See if that fixes it.

It maybe just XP that knows its the wrong time, and corrects it anyway.

Would "GMT+12" work? (I don't think Microsoft have heard about UTC yet :D).

Well, no...
It's NZ Daylight Time which is 1 hour behind NZ Standard Time.
If it were NZ Dunedin Time it would be at least 10 years behind NZ Standard Time wouldn't it?

OOOppps
Should have read:
It's NZ Daylight Time which is 1 hour AHEAD of NZ
Standard Time.

Use another timesynch package sounds like a good option to me.
