Wish I'd never seen an nforce mobo.

When I attempt a clean install of Win XP to setup RAID/SATA drivers, I press f6, install the Silicon Image drivers via floppy. Press <enter> when it states, then the install hangs and I have to reset to get out.

Should SATA be disabled in the BIOS during this stage? or shouldn't it matter?

If the latter, then I have another issue with the unit. Have attempted it three times with SATA enabled.

Make sure that you have these items set correctly in the bios

Depending on your preference make sure that either of the First/Second/Third Boot Devices is set to SCSI

Usually one of these is set to HDD-0, so this is usually the device that you should change to SCSI

Next set the "SATA/RAID/SCSI Boot Order" to SCSI

Do you have one or two SATA drives? And are you setting them up as raid or leaving as standard?

If you are setting up a raid make sure "Serial ATA Function" is set to RAID.
If you are setting up as a standard drive make sure "Serial ATA Function" is set to BASE.

Finally "Onboard H/W Serial ATA" does need to be set to Enabled

Thanks, mate.

Always can rely on a good Cantab for a straight answer. Will check on all above next week when back from holiday.
