I'm trying to shutdown my computer using the command prompt but I keep getting the message that "shutdown" is not recognised as an internal or external command.

Iv'e tried something likes this with no succes -

shutdown /l /t:60 "The computer is shutting down" /y /c

BTW, do I need to enter the name of my computer somewhere in there too?

Help Appreciated

shutdown -s is the command in XP. Should be the same for 2000

I simply substituted shutdown with -s and it still didn't work.

Install the Resource Kit first.
