I just got some new heatsink compound for my CPU and was wondering how to go about putting it in. It will be placed on the Cpu heatsink. Do i just cover the entire heatsink or just the area where the CPU will be under the sink. Any advice will be great

As with most things,a little care and attantion to detail will give better results then just slapping a glob on and attaching the heatsink.

Remember not to put too much on. It's not a case of more is better when dealing with heatsink compounds. A thin coating is all you need.
