Greetings Team.

3 comps, all networked, one with a vpn to access a database in another part of the country...They want to access the database from all 3 comps.

A.Can the vpn be allocated as shared and then used by the other 2 comps?
b.Or would a VPN to the database have to be set up on each comp?

Any info apreciated.

I think you should be able to share the VPN.

I agree, I think, It should/does work like a shared net connection but, apprentice's advise masters with caution and reserve. I would have expected voices of experience by now.

Can't you allocate a VPN a range of IP's to use?

Cheers Murray P

At least it'll stay near the top.

"shared VPN" to Google brought up, among others, one titled "Howto Lan to Lan VPN Tunnels with Pre-Shared Key and routing" ...

That looks as if it's possible to arrange the VPN to link a LAN at each end through one tunnel. Your far end could be a LAN with only one host. ;-)
