Do you have any more details regarding the error message?

If you are unable to use your computer sounds like more than just an inconvenience.

You could start looking here (http://www.google.com/search?num=100&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&q=sp2+Direct+Access+Component+encountered+a+proble m+and+need+to+close.+We+are+sorry+for+the+inconven ience...&btnG=Search)

further information that i found

After looking on the website <http://www.mcse.ms/message1002285.html> i have similar problem with them.. because my CD writer use HP DLA. When i put the CD-RW and those unclosed CD-R i get this message if i first put the CD in...

maybe i guess it is the incompatitility on between HP DLA and the Windows XP SP2.. as i know that HP DLA is online and nothing has been update lately!

i hope some more information can be provided in order to solve this problem....

Looks like your on the right track with HP DLA HP packet writing (http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/processlibrary/tfswctrl/).

You have a memory dump there C:\Documents and Settings\my Account name\ Local settings\Temp\WERc52f.d00\tfswctrl.exe mdmp which you could check out plus System Event log will give some more info.

I had the same problem with TFSWCTRL.exe.mdmp in xp sp2.

Solution: Turns out that the DLA that I installed from the hp dvd writer software is not compatable with xp sp2. You have to uninstall the dla software, then install "HPDLA460.exe and the problem is gone!

Hope it works for you!
