He He. Had to laugh at some of the postings on PressF1 and people's general discontent with Telecom (even though Telecom are no laughing matter).
Seems there are unlimited names for our favourite company.

Ones I have come across on these forums:

Telecom (very seldom used)

The most common nicknames are:

Telecon (a good play on words)
Telescum (a little more derogatory)

Also occasionally used:

Telescam
Telecrap
Telecrum

Can anyone suggest any others???

They are removing the name completely.

We will know they exist.
That they are only interested in their own evil plans.
We will realize they control us.
But unable to name the evil, incapable of identifying the forces of darkness we are unable to fight it and thus rendered no threat to their dominance.

The world spins, seasons change, The machine that is Telecom rolls forever on.

Bit like the K.G.B in all its past and present incarnations.

Tele-cod (there's definitely something fishy about the way they operate)

Tele-pong (their whole business stinks)

Ok, I agree with some of what is said but I wish I was as rich as them, and could make those sort of dollars every 1/4.
On the other side of the coin, I talk to people overseas who have phones that are dead as often as they work, and does their telephone company care, or try and get everyone back on line quickly. Not on your Nellie, they are only interested in their profit.
So ok, telecom might leave a bit, (a lot) to be desired, but I still think we have it better than a lot of countries. Ok, end of sermon, and no, I don't work for telecom, and if Clear ever come out to the whap whaps, I would be the first to check them out. LOL

For petes sake..... how old are you people who criticise them. My guess is you are still at school and having your parents pay the bill.

I have been with Telecom since the emerged from The NZ Post Office, and IMHO anyone that criticises them is having a whinge for the sake of it.

I have yet to experience anything other than first-rate top level and extremely helpful service. If you don't like them, stop your boring whinging and switch to someone else.

Likewise I was a telegraphist in the good old Post and Telegraph Department Circa 1940 and retired from the Engineers Office 19 years ago. The progress made over the last 20 years or so is just mind boggling and I take my hat off to all those in an organisation that has kept abreast of the times and renders a service they can be proud of. I think all who winge against Bill Gates, Telecom and other large organisations are the types who will winge about anything. I personally am grateful for the technology that lets me enjoy so much in my octogenerian years.

So you have chosen to abuse others for criticizing a faceless monopoly?

Bizarre.

Plain and simple, Telecom do not provide value for money internet feed, Because this is a computer forum the amount of people not happy with that will be concentrated. This does not make us wa*kers.

The fact that 20 years ago things were worse doesn't mean we should thank telecom and just shut up, they have our "thanks" in the form of billions of dollars.

There are bigger forces at play Appling pressure to telecom then just this micro-forum, I suppose they are just pubescent w@nkers as well?

As a bill payer, I am disgusted monthly as I give over my hard earned cash for such a crap product, and I don't give a damn how it was in 1973,our global sense is much bigger now.

No need to call people names just because they have the ability to see what you cannot.

I have totally, I sat at a Table with Telecom Execvtives as they welched on a deal and said "we have more money than you for layers sue us"

We did we WON, in the Court Of Appeal we WON. The Court was less than impressed with Telecoms Appeal. Thay paid us millions, We still lost money. Hundreds of New Zealanders lost job's and in some cases homes.

So Telecom could have a Bigger bottom line on the deal.

They are not the p and t, the p and t would never have pulled that stunt. They are an Unethical, Evil, Selfish, Arrogant, Monoply.

Metla,

"Winkelpickers" was very apt. Like most thing you write.
