Just a web based email with heaps of storage. I'm sure plently more will come avaliable, looks as you have to be quick to grab one when someone offers an invite.

Look here for the answers

As the whole Gmail (Google Mail) system is in "beta test mode" only a few can use it.

They limit the people trialling it by issuing "invites" which many kind people here have shared around with others.

Thanks G/F and Johnboy and Rob99 a bit clearer now, but looks like it dont yet support Opera browsers.

Rob99: About the AVG updates when I get on the net in the morning I always check for updates manually. Had a bit of a problem a while back with the auto updates and even the manual ones in that they did'nt update so thus is y I check first thing in the mornings around 8:30 - 10:00am.

Its not a program beetle, its a website and an email address.

Just like hotmail.

Exactly.

Depending on what ISP you use and someone sends you a Email attachment like a photo scanned in that is 8 - 35 Megs in size or possibly bigger. Some ISPs will not allow attachments over a certain size.

I must admit that I have had to send replies to people to reduce the size of attachments while I was on dial up. Usually about six minutes per Megabyte to download.
