Hi

Was in PC World site looking for more info on SP2 CD in next magazine.
I had a query, looked at list of contact details, clicked on the following:
scott-bartley at idg dot co dot nz, it brought up my Outlook Express and I spelt out my question that I wanted a reply to.

Next time I use MailWasher to check for mail, there was a failure notice from:
mailer-daemon at drone2 dot qsi dot net dot nz which included the following:

Remote Host said: 554 Contents rejected by Death2Spam.

There was no spam in the message I sent. Nothing offensive, just a simple couple of questions.
As I used the link on the PCWorld or IDG site why would it not be accepted?

Have never had this happen before. Any clues???

I could ask the same question on this forum, but thought I'd go the direct route.

Regards, Marg.

Hi Marg

What did you put in the subject heading? If you choose a phrase that is commonly used by spammers this might of triggered the autospam filter to reject your email. Try rephrasing your subject heading to something more specific and make sure the body of the message also does not cotain phrases which may look like a spam email. Don't take offense at this, as spam filters can be a bit over the top sometimes with what *it* considers likely spam. :)

Hi Jen C,

Thanks for replying. The following is my subject heading:

RE: September Publication CD Windows XP SP2

What part of this would affect the spam machine ?

OK, you got me there - that looks pretty respectable :D

That shouldn't of triggered the spam filter, unless it was combined with the words you used in the body of the email. Just try rephrasing what you wrote and see if it gets thru. The spam filter might just be having a bad hair day.

It would for me... I get two spam emails a day about buying cheap MS software...

Try:
SP2 on Cover Disc
Or something else similar :-)

Hi,
Tried again, rejected again !!!!! :-(

Subject Heading : SP 2 on Cover Disk

Body:
Hi
Is it Service Pack 2 for Professional, (my Windows is sp1 Professional)
or Home version that will be on your disk ?

Thanks
Margaret Manion
Christchurch.

Okay, how can this email be skuppered by them? Could his mail box be full?
Maybe I should do it by NZ post? Or, do I wait till the magazine to come out ??

Does anyone in this forum have the answer to my question?

That should of worked.

Anyhow, to answer your question, there is only one SP2 and that can be used for either XP Home or Pro. Doesn't matter. :)

Thanks Jen C.

Feel a bit stupid now for not just putting a post here. But thought there were enough posts on SP 2 already.

regards, Marg.

Maybe it auto rejects if you're using a generic address like an @hotmail.com or similar.

I'm surprised it doesn't give a more exacting reason for rejection.

Hey, send the email to my address - bruce_buckman@idg.co.nz - I want to see if Death2Spam rejects it. Death2Spam uses user training as well as its rules set to improve the hit rate. There shouldn't be anything in the email to cause it to be rejected though.

Hi Bruce.

Have sent you 2 emails.

1. A new email using same wording as the last one sent with one question only. Heading: SP 2 on Cover Disk.

2. Have redirected the first email that started off this post in PF1 to see if that makes any difference. Heading:RE: September Publication CD Windows XP SP2

While typing this, received your reply on the 1st one I sent you.

regards Mard
