View Full Version : Outlook 2003 setup

We have a new laptop with XP Professional OS installed. Originally basic OEM Office Edition installed. Problem is with Outlook 2003 starting up.
Upgraded to Office Professional Edition, problem persists. Had some professional advice and tried to get on line help to resolve but so far no solution has been found. Can anyone help with this?

When the Outlook icon is clicked to start the programme the following message comes up on the screen in front of the Outlook image.
" Microsoft Outlook - The connection to Microsoft Exchange Server is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action"

We have tried it online but it makes no difference. We have a similar setup on a PC, different software purchases, no duplication of CD-ROM, and no problem with using the Outlook 2003 programme.

We have checked earlier responses on F1 but no one so far seems to have come across this.

Look forward to any comments.

It appears as if it is trying to contact a local server, like it would on a business network. What accounts are set up? Are they all configured correctly?
