BBC website (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/3570636.stm) has info from Microsoft, saying that quite a few software don't work with the SP2 update.

There has been a bit of talk about the clashes and incompatibility issues with SP2.

Lots of people know about this, but I want a list! Which software? Which versions?

Does anyone know where an "OFFICIAL" list is? Microsoft should be releasing this as it was their fault, so where is it?

IBM won't install it on their company computers until they have produced their own pack. They want to stay in business. ;-)

Some programs seem to stop working after you install Windows XP Service Pack 2 (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;842242)

Programs that may behave differently in Windows XP Service Pack 2 (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=884130&product=windowsxpsp2).

Installshield is a biggy, amongst others. No mention of P2P or firewire that I could see, only skimmed the lists though.

Looking at the list of things that may not work. Who has the buggy software Micro$hit or all these software vendors..??

Well,i for one won't be using sp2 untill the new zone alarm is released, which will completely disable the inbuilt windows firewall.

Now I know why I am happy with 98SE.

(Not to mention the exorbitant price of XP!)

Foxtrot,

Thanks for the list! What google search parameters did you use? Google is my friend too, but I think s/he is keeping secrets from me.

And with this list, it seems I will not have any running applications except the trusty calculator.

It might be time to take the plunge into the LINUX pool don't you think?

My word !
What a lot of problematic software - some well known firms in that list. I can understand why MS programs are the biggest group of victims - SP2 is supposed to stop virus etc. problems.
Is the list of stopped viruses as long as the list of affected programs ?
