Hey guys has anyone picked up any problems with DX9c?

I've read a few forums where some users have noted a slight drop in performance... between 5 and 10 fps less in Doom 3, I read somewhere?

Has anyone had similar experiences?

cheers

I've heard of some gains and some no-difference. I installed it myself today and can't notice any difference

5fps less than normal... not happy with that.

Could be OS dependant, one of the forum members had problems with 9b on win 98, that was the assumption anyway.

What benchmark you use, Lo?

Man, 5fps would suck considering I average only 4 when running some games at High-Res on my laptop... 9 if I run at 640x480 ;-)

When I had DX9c it gave me a 10 point~ increase in 3dMark03, and a few extra frames in Far Cry. I wouldn't matter too much if it loses frames in Doom3, it's only one game and probably only a driver issue. I imagine Ati and Nvidia haven't quite got around to optimising for DX9c.

Go for it chill - if you can knock off 5 frames from the original 4fps, you can charge the batteries from the excess negative frames. Free ! ! ;)
