Thanks Laura.

There is also a Spybot S&D update. 1.3.1 2MB major. Remember, if you get checksum errors or have trouble with the default download server, change it to one of the other servers such as EON the Aussie one.

Thanks to you both - Murray the last Spybot update I can find was dated 28/07/2004 - is there an actual new prog version that needs downloading , or should my 1.3 pick-up the update? Thanks

Thanks Laura,
Hi Murray - per this thread (http://forums.net-integration.net/index.php?showtopic=20938) the update is a beta release only and may not be for everyone, but you must have beta updates ticked under settings to get this update.

Yes I have. It didn't advise it was a beta though, which is a bit strange?? Sorry if this has caused confusion to anybody? If you don't like beta versions leave it alone until the official comes out, probably in a few days to a weeks time.

Mine came in on Spybot OK just now - where does one see the setting for beta ?

Open Spybot, Mode, Advanced, Settings (LHS), Settings (again), RHS Automation, Web Update, "display available beta versions" tick or untick depending on your preference

For those not into beta versions:
I haven't asked for those myself & I've just checked for updates.
I'm told there are none at present.
(My last update was downloaded on 28 July)
Some of us ..the brave ones, maybe... seem to be ahead of others of us..

not really into beta's - don't feel I'm up to trying and sort them out ... Ad aware has had a major revamp as is indicated in other posts today , it picked up a few more cookies than the previous version [ fully updated ] that I had until this a.m. , will await the official Spybot update ... thanks to all for keeping us aware of developments :)

Ah what the hey - I'll be a crash dummy. Got the beta -it found a bunch of stuff and zapped it to oblivion, Same with AdAware (except it's not Beta). AVG is running right now with it's new data, so I guess I'm safe for oh - another 2 hours or so. ;)
