Don't know whether I am doing the right thing making this a new post, but I wish to thank all who responded to my previous post about no mouse recognised in Redhat Linux. After three unsuccessful tries of all the solutions suggested I found a book in the local library with the three installation discs and decided to try them and lo and behold the mouse came to life and I was able to complete the whole installation without having to press buttons all the time. Now begins the learning curve to suss out the different programmes and what they will do. Lots of fun when things are working as they should. Cheers.......heaton

Aha. Did you not have a proper set of installation disks? That might explain the problems. I wouldn't like to try to make a CD which would install on any computer.

They were a set of proper discs and not copies. Can't understand it. I did not think cd's could get corrupted but obviously something was amiss.
