View Full Version : Netscape won't open

I kept getting invalid page fault messages caused by Netscape. To try and solve the problem I uninstalled Communicator. After doing so, there were a couple of Netscape files left in the directory, so I deleted them, figuring that I would start from scratch again completely.
I then downloaded Communicator and installed it. When I click on the Netscape icon on my desktop, I get the error message 'Disk cache directory C:\\archive does not exist. Please enter a new directory in the preferences box.' Nevertheless Netscape continues loading until loading the plugins, when I get the further message 'This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.' I click on Details & get 'Netscape caused an invalid page fault in module Netscape.exe at 016f:00604c94'
I can't find the disk cache directory, or how to reinstate it. If I did so, I wouldn't know what to enter as a new directory in the preferences box.
