Anyone got experience of phoning over the Net using mynetphone usb phones?
Phones are on sale in NZ at likes of Harvey Norman - approx $100; rates are quoted in $US and charged to credit card.
Website:- www.mynetphone.info for details

Would appreciate opinions of anyone who has tried this out

This is one that we reviewed in the July issue of the mag. I liked it so much I bought the ethernet interface one. To be honest, I think the USB one was better. You get some additional control via the PC.
Was a bit echo-ie calling my wife via US but works great calling my friends in US and UK. Call quality was better than regular call in San Francisco case (except two calls where the person at the other end couldn't hear me).

Robo,

Can't find the review of the phone(s) in the July mag (at least browsing in the mag shop ;\ ), what section is it in?

I have used Skype (free) to make calls overseas via the internet very successfully. No echo, high quality audio, small delay.

www.skype.com I think is the site.

Still wondering how this compares with 6 cents per minute ( 3 in happy hour ) to UK/US via phone card such as ChiTel.

ChiTel might just work out cheaper - how much does it cost with mynetphone?

ChiTel is a phonecard you buy - it doen't need anything else but your own telephone. Not avilable except in 6 cities. Doesn't need a computer but calls are routed through the Net.
