Auckland's best radio station is about to go away.
Oh woe is me - now there's nothing to listen to :(

The sad news is on this press release (http://www.coolblue.co.nz/news_release.htm). What a dreadful piece of news to wake up to. It was bad enough being JAFA before this.

Can't be much wrong with a station that plays tunes like this:-

It should be on this afternoon (Tue, Jun 22) around 25 to 4

Who else plays the good stuff ? Woe again ?:|

A little good news - they sent me an e-mail this afternoon and are going to try to stay on in the same format as a web station. ( I have woosh -now I need another laptop.) :-)

Whoever is behind Cool Blue could always see about running it part-time on some other stations?

For instance, Fleet FM (http://www.fleetfm.co.nz) looks like they could fit it in between midnight and 7am - not really viable for current Cool Blue listeners, but they could probably take a few spots on the Fleet FM schedule.

I've been making a copy of the Cool Blue playlist every now and then since I first heard it's likely to close down - I've got about 600 songs at the moment. Who knows what I'll do with that list - any ideas?

Hi Agent
I am naive here - does that mean just a list of the actual names etc of the pieces of music played or does it mean recordings of the actual music itself ?

You can hear it on the web site - www.coolblue.co.nz

Or on their NEW WEB SITE (http://www.jazz-radio.fm/home2.php) which is now up and running.

Shame about the poor downloading process for the streaming music client - it wouldn't interact with Mozilla - then had to re-download it with IE ... twice, (said it was corrupt first time), then when it finally started playing thru media player it was crackling and popping and cutting out. Cool Blue was crystal clear with no lag :(

This morning went to listen to Cool Blue online and instead of just connecting right away I was told that I needed to download Windows Media Player 9 first. I have done this and seems ok. A lot of sites give the option of up to three players and I usually select Real Audio but it seems one must use the Windows product to listen to Cool Blue. Presumably they have to be configured in some way for each choice ? Is that a lot of work ?

Misty :(

It means just a list of the music played, Misty.

Though it shouldn't be too hard to then obtain all those songs... in theory.
