Headphones seem to work ok?

The reason I asked is because sometimes I run a cable from my PC to my stereo, and usually use the 3.5mm jack on the side of the speaker because it's closer to the stereo and I don't have much cable length.

If I set it up so I can plug it straight into my soundcard, would I get better sound quality? Somebody said:

I say, would I notice the sound quality, what I really mean to ask is, is it worth me moving my furniture around to gain this amount of sound quality? (whatever the amount is).
