A carrier pigeon

Probably just about as reliable too,
in this world of lost connections. In fact
with PF1 delivering 404's last night, I
thought I'd have to use a skinnum to
deliver this week's WFTWE.:(

.... pluckum, which came (hopefully) after killum ...

Quite tasty. More meat on them than on Sparrows as well.

When the skinnum is perched (in a tree), is it logged on ?

But of course there is an Internet RFC covering the use of "Avian Carriers". I believe there was a successful test made recently.

Did it come under the general heading of - "read, mark, and inwardly digest".

That is a fairly old protocol, and doesn't have an ISO number

RFC1149 (http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc1149.txt) has been revised to RFC2549 (http://ww.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2549.txt). Some Norwegians did a test (http://www.blug.linux.no/rfc1149/).

Probably due to ne(s)t congestion, the middle link went unserviceable.
In the interim, try RFC2549 rev. a (http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2549.txt) as a substitute.

It appears that there's nothing new under the sun (Ask Daedalus)
