About 10 to 12 minutes if all goes well.

Without getting too precise, as download time is depended on may factors:

1mb takes about 2 - 2.5 minutes, so your 4.1mb file will take between 8 & 10 minutes to download.

hope this helps

It just so happens that I sent a 4.3 Mb file (12 small photos ) today and it took 40 minutes.

cheers merlin-nz ;-)

You will notice that the top speed for download is 56K , but on upload is only 33k. Hence uploading is going to take longer, but 40 minutes???

Connection speed also doesn't gaurantee that the data comes down faster, as with noise and packet corruption, the sending computer has to re-send packets, which take up time as well, decreasing the time for the actual data to be downloaded.

Hey , it is just an estimate at the best of times.

Having used dialup Internal and External modems for some years.. As a user of these modems it was six minutes per Megabyte roughly.

It appears to me that the user may be looking at approximately 30 minutes.

And file sizes bloat by up to 1.5 times, with error correction.

Expect a transmission file size of about 6 MB upload for a 4 MB delivered file.

And if you are emailing your zip file it has to be ASCII encoded which increases the amount of data sent.
