In New Zealand we don't actually have a Human Rights Act as such yet.

There will not be as there is not a Human Rights Act in New Zealand. YET!!

You may have rights under other legislation though.
You may also submit your thoughts to "The Human Rights Commission" as well.

Hi Chris,

Yes you are quite correct, there definitely is an Human Rights Act (Human Rights Act 1993, and several amendments in fact).

Go here click on the + next to H and scroll down to "Human Rights Act 1993" and the act will load in the right-hand pane.

Here is a direct link to the Human Rights Act (from the site I gave in the previous post) - however this link has no frames or anything, so you can't really browse the site.

awesome guys thanks for the answers :D

and to put in a claim that breaches the Act, I just have to contact the Human Rights Commission and they will give me info on what to do to present a case? is that correct?

Yes, the Commissioner is the person you complain to for an alleged breach of human rights in NZ. Apart from that there is always the United Nations.

Do a search for United Nations human rights.
