View Full Version : VCM.000 Folder

A folder has appeared in my Windows Folder called VCM.000 It’s 30meg and contains 176 files. There is also a folder named VCM 5 meg containing 31 files. If one goes to properties on the VCM.000 folder it doesn’t show when it was created, just “unknown”.

Operating System Win98se.

Can anyone give me a clue whether this should be there or whether it’s superfluous to requirements? The .000 in the filename would indicate to me it may have been unintentionally loaded and the VCM folder is all that is required.

Does anyone know for sure about this folder as I’d like to free another 30meg of space. :D

> Have you tried to reinstall 98

this is not a suggestion that you should, just wodering because I have noticed that windows will use this naming convention ie .000 if a reinstall is attempted and the directory is already there.

No beama, I personally haven't reinstalled th OS but that is not to say someone else hasn't. :D

I agree, the .000 can point to a reinstall.

Might try renaming it and see what crashes. :)
