[B]on a used hard drive how many possible locations can a file be saved? [B/]

hey y'all,,

I am getting some poorly phrased questions.. arguing the toss gets me nowhere.. so other than the answer .."as many as you want if the hardrive is formatted the file sum is no greater than the volume available and has a fat "!!

does anyone have a definitive answer to the above ??
thanks
Al

have you not answered your own question??

as many as you want if the hardrive is formatted the file sum is no greater than the volume available and has a fat.....

even if you only have one copy of the file it can be that the file is stored on sevral place on the disk due to defrag or other file moving type things.

Well, depending on how the hard drive was used, the file could be on/in a lot of places, the obscurity of which will be directly proportional to the urgency of finding the "one true copy" Murphy's law applies.
