Just curious. Does anyone use MS Messenger. I have never seen any questions about it in press f.1.
Was just cleaning out explorer and noticed it sitting there. It still won't let me delete it.

Do you mean Windows Messenger? MSN Messenger? MSN Explorer?

Lots of poeple I know use MSN Messenger, however I'm getting people onto Neos (neosmt.com) and using the jabber.org.nz server...

It works better with Video/Voice conferencing :-)

That'd be Windows Messenger.

If it wont delete its coz its still active in the Systray by the clock.

Quit it and Outlook Express, then try again.

Use MSN Messenger.. It superceeds it :-)

MS Messenger is installed with Windows XP. It is run from msmsgs.exe in Program Files.
MSN Messenger is the updated and most popular version and is run from msnmsgr.exe after downloading the program from Microsoft.
If you are wishing to remove MS Messenger the forum has a FAQ on how to do so. Be aware however that it may be reinstalled with certain MS updates.

Can I ask why Metla?

Then, can I ask why anybody would use such a product when there are just as good alternatives?!

I was only wondering if anyone used it because I hadn't seen any "How do I " messages on the forum.
Looks like some people do use it.

Because its not bloated,Its just a nice simple plain chat program.

MSN messanger looks like a circus rolled into town and set up on ya computer.

LOL!

BUT my kids won't use windows messenger on their PC to chat with their mates, because, they say it is boring... I guess they like the look of the circus!

BTW, if you leave msn and windows messenger both on your PC can be signed in with two accounts at once - handy when you have more than one person who wants to see if their friends are online... however see my earlier comment - they then fight over who gets to use the circus :|

Look up the polygamy patch.

see http://mess.be

Works better than using MSN Messenger & Windows Messenger at the same time :-)

Either that or use Gaim :-)

Yes, that would be correct. I was initially just looking in my Program Files folder in Windows Explorer where it comes under the Messenger folder. After running msmsgs.exe the program opens as Windows Messenger.
