i have a few MIDI files that i need to get on to a music CD to play in the car.

what software can i use to get the MIDI to mp3 or wav??

sorry my fault, i should have said that i have tryed winamp wav to disk with no luck and most results on google cost $$ or only do limited time eg 30 seconds

Yeah, both me and my friend have tried to do this. I tried on Winamp, and it worked once, then stopped working. My friend tried on the Win XP one in sound properties or something, worked once, then stopped working.

You say you have tried it "with no luck", but that site has step-by-step instructions. It even has a link to the version of Winamp that works (an earlier version, later ones don't)

Which bit doesn't work for you?

A bit Heath Robinson but it works the few times I've needed to do it. Play the midi sound into a recorder such as Nero Wave Editor, or even the MS Sound Recorder will do. You then have a .wav file. If you still want an MP3 - use dBPoweramp to convert it. You can download free from dBpoweramp.com

it works now.

before i was getting no wav writen to the disk.

after reinstalling my sound card drive it now works.

i dont know why and i want ask why.
