Hi there. I have a desktop PC and a laptop. I want the laptop to share everything of the desktop including my jetstream connection. Can I just purchase a pcmcia network card and a pci network card or do I need something called a router? My adsl modem in my desktop is pci.
Cheers Neil

Yes, you can just purchase a pcmia card and a pci card and some crossover cable, and get a proxy to install on the desktop computer to share the internet, which is what I did, but proxies can be a pain, needing a lot of tweaking for certain things such as gaming. Somehow through some weird fluke I got online gaming working on the laptop. I'd advise a router, it's a lot simpler.

Thanks for that Wilky.

What proxy would you recommend?

I'm using ProxyPlus, it's free. Search for it on google. Not good for online gaming though, if you want to game then get a router.
