Hello PJ. Everyone has to pay in sterling to use the Census but you can buy sterling vouchers from Beehive Books in Auckland. But maybe the info you seek is available elsewhere. As a first step contact Grace Phillips, who is Convener of the Wanganui Genealogy Group on g.p.phillips@xtra.co.nz to discuss what to do. Maybe some helpful person will look up the stuff for you.
Cheers Tony

TonyF. Have contacted Wanganui Gen, Thanks. They are mainly Wanganui & NZ only. With an older version of the LDS IGI for the UK on fiche. We would need to go to Wanganui LDS to check them out first,(Tuesdays only).
And/Or go to a larger centre like Palmerston North or Wellington to get UK info.

We would need to
> go to Wanganui LDS to check them out first,(
Go to www.familysearch.org and put some names in. It should not take long to narrow the search.

TonyF. Yes this is what we do However it is sometimes better to go see the Fiches that LDS hold, they seem to have more info than the Internet.
Also thers is a better selection of BDM fiches there. We do use the Free BDS on the Net, The trouble now is that we are "before" the 1838 startup of the UK govt records. Thanks PJ

If you put someone elses and also your own email addy on here make sure you hide it so that the bots can't use it. eg g . p . phillips at xtra*co*nz

Fair enough. But there must be someone in Wanganui using the 1901.

Hi Poppa. Not seriously in to gen. However, I do have the full 1881 census if you ever get beyond 1901. Might be able to assist some time.

Scouse. I do have a full CD set of the 1881 Census, this is also freely available at the LDS site. Thanks. PJ

TonyF. Genealogy on hold at the moment. Have moved into a new house over the weekend & trying to fing a place for everything. The 1881 is about the only FREE site apart from the UK Free BDM site. Thanks PJ

Is anybody seriously into genealogy looking for a microfiche reader? I have one to dispose of you see, and PF1 is a good a place as any to pass it on to a new owner.

I have no idea of the going rate, but anything with 000.00 on the end would sound very attractive to me.:D

Cheers
