View Full Version : Unbootable Linux

I am having trouble with TurboLinux Workstation 6, I can't boot it...
When I try to install all goes well until it reaches near the end (after the 'it will now restart'), it brings up - /etc/rc.d/rc.modules.. No such file or directory. Then it continues and reboots after I reenter the root password.

When I next boot I find that it hasn't installed LILO and so I just boot into Windows 98se. When it asks me where to install LILO I choose MBR and it says installing Boot Loader and everything seems well.

When I try using pqboot to manually boot to the linux partition it just locks up because it can't boot to it (I think it needs an intilisation or something).

I made the Linux partion in the Primary area of my HDD (using Partition Magic 4), but it says that the partion may not be bootable bacause it isn't in the first 1024 cylnders. The partion is after the rather large Logical section.

Is there a way that I can get linux to boot and load, I want it to be able to boot to Windows 98se too.
