View Full Version : Checking POP3 mail at work

17-03-2004, 12:12 PM
I have a windows 2000 server at work running Microsoft Exchange and ISA Server 2000 firewall.
I cannot check external POP3 mail (say pop3.xtra.co.nz) from Outlook when I set up an external account.
I can ping the server but cannot download email.

Any help would be appreciated.

You can't login to the Xtra pop server unless your connection is with Xtra
Another inconvenience that Xtra has subjected its customers to.

You will have to access your mail from the Xtra website using webnail.

Ok, I have an xtra jetstream connection and it still does not work, also cannot connect to Clear or Baycity through POP3.

I would check your firewall setting if the server settings are correct in the mail accounts.

Has this worked in the past or have you just setup the account in your mail program

Just started happening 3 months ago. No changes to firewall but will need to check. Any web reference on how to set the firewall up to allow POP connections?

most probably depends on what firewall you are using.....

How about logging into the xtra webmail. Then going into the settings and forwarding yourself a copy of each email to your work address.

Practically achieves same thing. Works!
