View Full Version : Opening Webpages using Windows scripting / batch files

Hi All,

I am wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction.

I am wondering if i can open webpages using a simple batch file.

I know i can open one by using the run cmd in windows.

Think i must be missing something, a switch etc in the batch files i have tried?

I just typed the URL into the batch file and that's it.

Am searching Windows Help for more info.

Where are all you scripting guru's?

Thanks in advance...

I ve been thinking about this and here may have better solution
create a new shortcut right click etc and when it asks for the path to the exercutable type in your url. Should have thought of this earlier as I use this method all the time

PS. I was after the command line stuff rather than the desktop shortcut option, as one click on a batch file will now open all my IE windows [multiple] at once that i need rather than clicking on multiple shortcuts.

Thanks again Dude!

As an AutoIt 3 Script it would be:

Run("C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe http://www.google.co.nz")
Run("C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe http://www.apple.co.nz")

autoit 3 (http://www.autoitscript.com/autoit3/index.php)
It allows you to make nice executables and is free too.
