Am getting this message at bootup time from a machine running Slackware 9.1.

There was an error setting up inter-process communications for KDE. The message returned by the system was: could not read network connection list.
/home/sandra/.DCOPserver_sandra_0
Please check that the "dcopserver program is running.

KDE will then return to a graphical login screen & if I login as user it will run the first time wizard for KDE setup and then repeat the above message.
This process will just repeat over and over.

The machine used to just autologin as user to KDE.

This only happens as user, a root login works ok.

Thanks.

Try deleting everything in /tmp
It could have wrong permissions for /tmp/.ICE-unix/
Then login as your normal user account.
