At work we have a domain name and at present we are using the most useless isp/mail system ever "Compuserve". Anyway i have set up the mail redirect on our website/domain name to redirect mail to our new orcon account and i get all the mail.

What i want to do now is set up a "mail server"? to grab the mail and then get each person to get there own mail from such mail server.

eg: bruce@domainname.com then burce can open his outlook and get mail from mail server.

Is there a mail server that 1, is free or close to it 2, can run as a process on a workstation rather than a server??

Thanks in advance for any help

There is more to a mailserver than simplicity.

However if you want a freebee try here.

If you want a good paid server try these two.

The last two have 30 trials you can download and play with

If you want, you can try Mercury Mail Server - a NZ Made product.

I forgot to mention that Mercury Mail Server is Freeware. It supports POP3 and SMTP. From memory, IMAP is also supported.

Great mail server! Not free but worth the cost.
