According to an article on Slashdot, Microsoft is attemtping to patent the
"Virtual Desktop" concept used commonly in several graphical user interface
systems, such as X.

Well who used it in the first place? Besides if someone makes the same thing before you have the idea patented, then isn't the patent invalid?

I agree with the first comment made :p

I must say that all this patenting things like Hyperlinks and Browser Plugin Capabilities etc is absolutely ridiculous!

Think of what an end it could mean for the consumer!!!

Yeah it's patently obvious the MS are panicing. Can't the reason see why, because they dominate the desktop market.
